This district covers two things that a map treats as one: the Colosseum itself, and Monti — the neighbourhood behind Via Nazionale that has its own bars and restaurants rather than a strip of tourist menus.
It is one of the few places in central Rome where a headline ruin sits inside walking distance of somewhere people actually live. The cost is at the other end of the city: all five properties here are 2.80km or more from St Peter’s.
