Haeundae Hotels — The Beach Ranking and the Station Ranking Are Opposites
Seven Haeundae hotels compared. The beach runs from 50m to 1.11km — a 22-fold spread — and the order for the subway station is almost exactly reversed.

Haeundae is right when the day starts and ends at the water. But “a Haeundae hotel” is not one thing you can choose from — the seven below range from 50m to 1.11km from the sand, a 22-fold spread.
And the order for the subway is almost exactly reversed. The property closest to the beach is furthest from a station; the one 80m from a station is sixth on the beach. So the first question here is which of the two you will use every day.
Beach order, station order
| Hotel | Beach | Nearest station | Check-out | Overall | Reviews |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Westin Josun Busan | 50m | Dongbaek 850m | Noon | 8.9 | 3,599 |
| Paradise Hotel Busan | 70m | Haeundae 700m | 11am | 9.0 | 13,780 |
| Shilla Stay Busan Haeundae | 120m | Haeundae 430m | Noon | 8.7 | 20,600 |
| Kolon Seacloud Hotel | 130m | Haeundae 460m | 11am | 8.2 | 5,349 |
| Hotel Foret Premier Haeundae | 170m | Haeundae 350m | 11am | 8.2 | 1,472 |
| Ramada Encore Haeundae | 460m | Haeundae 80m | 11am | 8.7 | 17,612 |
| Park Hyatt Busan | 1.11km | Dongbaek 770m | 11am | 9.0 | 4,101 |
The Westin Josun leads on the beach and finishes last on the station at 850m. Ramada Encore, at 80m from the station, is 460m from the sand.
Three tiers, not one district
1) Beachfront (50–170m) — five properties. The range where walking out in swimwear genuinely works: Westin Josun, Paradise, Shilla Stay, Kolon Seacloud and Hotel Foret Premier.
2) Inside the district’s streets (460m) — Ramada Encore. Six or seven minutes to the sand with the Haeundae eating and shopping streets in between. In exchange, 80m to the station and a location score of 9.4, the highest of the seven.
3) Marine City (1.11km) — Park Hyatt Busan. Inside Haeundae district but a layer off the strip. Guests repeatedly describe being away from the noisy main street as the reason it was restful, with Dongbaek Island 1.07km and the Gwangan Bridge 1.48km. It is also closest to Gimhae Airport at 17.86km, against 18.98–20km for the other six.
Which end of the beach
- The western end, by Dongbaek Island — The Westin Josun Busan. Dongbaek Island is 410m and APEC Naru Park 440m, so the evening walk starts at the door. Busan Aquarium, at 760m, is the furthest here
- The commercial end — Paradise (aquarium 370m) and Shilla Stay (190m). Guests repeatedly report under five minutes to the busy streets, and Paradise draws recurring mentions of a passage leading straight to the sand
- Beside the aquarium — Kolon Seacloud at 150m and Hotel Foret Premier at 180m
Hotel Foret Premier is the exception to the rule — 170m to the sand and 350m to the station, the only property short on both. Its overall score is 8.2 across just 1,472 reviews, the smallest sample here, and wear and odour appear in those reviews.
Child rules split four ways
| Hotel | Free ages |
|---|---|
| The Westin Josun Busan | 0–12 free — but 13+ counts as an adult |
| Paradise · Shilla Stay · Park Hyatt | 3–12 free |
| Hotel Foret Premier | 0–3 only; 4+ counts as an adult |
| Kolon Seacloud · Ramada Encore | No free-child policy |
The same four-year-old is free at one property and a paying adult at another. With a teenager the Westin’s ranking can invert, so enter ages and occupancy before comparing totals.
If the day ends on the property
The facility gap is the widest thing in this district.
| Hotel | Confirmed facilities |
|---|---|
| Paradise Hotel Busan | Pool · spa · kids club · gym · bar · business centre · beachfront |
| The Westin Josun Busan | Pool · spa · lounge · beachfront |
| Shilla Stay Busan Haeundae | Pool · gym · bar |
| Park Hyatt Busan | Pool · spa · gym |
| Kolon Seacloud Hotel | Rooftop pool · restaurant |
| Hotel Foret Premier Haeundae | Restaurant |
| Ramada Encore Haeundae | None confirmed |
With children, and a day that ends inside, Paradise — an outdoor pool, hot springs and a kids club in one 529-room building.
Park Hyatt has the facilities but they are described as small — one review calls the pool and breakfast room compact next to other hotels. Present, but a different scale.
Where the room name matters
Kolon Seacloud splits its fourteen verified types across six view labels — ocean, half ocean, partial ocean, city, no view, and assigned at check-in. In a district booked for the sea, the no-view types sit in the same list, and they are usually the cheaper ones.
Park Hyatt also distinguishes a yacht-marina outlook from an ocean view. Ramada Encore, at 460m, is best treated as having no sea view at all.
For three or more people
- The Westin Josun Busan — deluxe beach triple (three singles), deluxe beach family, superior family twin and a deluxe family ondol suite
- Shilla Stay Busan Haeundae — standard family city and ocean view, plus a premier family room
- Kolon Seacloud — guests describe three beds and two king beds, and the rooms include a washing machine and microwave for multi-night stays
- Paradise lists no type named “family”, though guests describe three people using a king bed plus an extra bed
Age of the buildings, and check-out
Opening and renovation years: Shilla Stay opened 2017 with 407 rooms; Ramada Encore 2017; Kolon Seacloud 2006 with 206 rooms; the Westin Josun built 1978 and renovated 2024 with 290 rooms; Paradise built 1981 and renovated 2017 with 529 rooms.
Only the Westin Josun and Shilla Stay check out at noon — though Agoda data as of August 2026 lists Shilla Stay at 11am, so that hour may move with the season. The other five are 11am. With Gimhae Airport around 19km away, that hour is real on the last morning.
When Haeundae is the wrong answer
If the sea is not the point, Haeundae is an expensive choice. The airport is about 19km away and anywhere else in the city means the subway.
- For the Gwangan Bridge at night, Gwangalli Beach stays puts four properties within 100m of each other
- For shopping and transport interchange, Seomyeon stays
- For Gamcheon village and Jagalchi, Nampo stays
How this list is put together
- Verified distances to Haeundae Beach, the subway, Dongbaek Island, Busan Aquarium and Gimhae Airport
- The beach order against the station order — which one you use daily is the real criterion
- Confirmed facilities, check-out times and how each room type states its view
- The child age rules that change the total
- Complaints that recur rather than appear once
Distances come from Agoda property data, with the verification date on each hotel page. This is researched from booking sources rather than written from a stay, and it does not quote rates.
